Samuel Stevenson Finlay
Samuel Stevenson Finlay ( 1888 - 1938 ) est né en Irelande du Nord et a paint autant en Ulster qu’en Ontario. Il s’installe pour de bon à Toronto en 1911, où il est employé par THE EVENING TELEGRAM. Il enseigne à L'Institue Central de Technique de toronto, et fût membre du Club '' Arts & Lettres '' de sa ville, et également membre de la Société d’Aquarelle d’Ontario, est élu membre associé de la Royal Society of Arts of London en Angleterre. Ses œuvres sont de plus en plus difficiles à se procurer, et on a vu le prix de ses œuvres atteindre des sommets au cours des dernières années, dans les maisons de ventes, tant, au Canada qu’à l’étranger.
S.S.Finlay ( 1888 - 1938 ) was born in Northern Ireland and painted in both Ulster and Ontario. He relocated to Toronto in 1911, where he was employed by The Evening Telegram. A teacher at Toronto's Central Technical Institute, Finlay was a member of the Arts & Letters Club, the Ontario Watercolour Society, and was elected a Fellow of the Royal Society of the Arts of London, England. His works are becoming harder to find as a result prices for his works have risen significantly over the last few years.
